1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Wardento (“Wardento”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of wardento.com, the Wardento web app, and the Wardento Google Meet add-on (together, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you're using the Services on behalf of an organization, you're agreeing on that organization's behalf and confirming you have the authority to do so.
See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data — it's incorporated into these Terms by reference.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. The Services
- wardento.com — where you learn about the product and can leave feedback.
- The Wardento web app — where you sign in, manage billing and credits, configure retention settings, and review past detection sessions.
- The Wardento Google Meet add-on (“the plugin”) — the side panel you open inside an active Meet call to invite a detection bot and see live results.
Wardento is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. “Google Meet” is a trademark of Google LLC.
4. Your account
You sign in to the web app and the Meet add-on with Google Sign-In. You're responsible for all activity under your account, and for keeping access to your Google account secure — we authenticate you through Google and don't maintain a separate password. Notify us at contact@wardento.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
One person may hold only one personal Wardento account, and no more than one account per company domain (for example, one account under @yourcompany.com even if you also hold a personal account elsewhere). We may merge, suspend, or terminate duplicate accounts.
5. How a detection session works, and your responsibility to participants
When you invite the Wardento bot into a Google Meet call and select a participant to check, our bot — signed in as its own Google account, not yours — joins the call and periodically captures short audio/video clips of the selected participant for analysis while detection is running.
You are responsible for consent
Recording and analyzing another person on a call may be regulated by wiretapping, call-recording, or data protection law in your jurisdiction (and theirs), and some laws require every participant's consent before a call can be recorded. You are solely responsible for determining what consent or notice is legally required for the call you're using Wardento on, and for obtaining it before you invite the Wardento bot or select a participant. Wardento provides the tool; you control if, when, and against whom it's used.
Don't use the Services to monitor, record, or analyze someone without the legal right to do so, or in a way that violates their privacy or applicable law.
6. Subscriptions, credits, and billing
Some features require a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly. Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle") is our authorized reseller and the merchant of record for all purchases made through the Services — Paddle handles checkout, billing, invoicing, and applicable sales tax/VAT, and is the merchant that will appear on your card or bank statement (see Section 11). Current plans, pricing, and monthly credit allowances are shown in the web app's Upgrade page and may change — we'll give notice before a price change takes effect for your active subscription.
Paid plans include a monthly credit allowance that's consumed as you run detection sessions. Your credit balance resets to your plan's allowance at the start of each billing cycle — unused credits do not carry over. New accounts also receive a one-time credit grant to try the product.
You can cancel your subscription anytime from the web app's Settings page. Cancelling stops future billing immediately, but you keep any credits already in your balance and can spend them through the end of your current billing cycle; once that cycle ends, remaining credits expire and aren't carried forward. We don't prorate charges or refund the unused portion of your current billing period, and except as required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
7. Acceptable use
In addition to the consent obligations in Section 5, when using the Services you agree not to:
- Use the Services for anything unlawful, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying detection models or bot infrastructure.
- Scrape, crawl, or access the Services by any means other than the interfaces we provide, or use any bot, script, or other automated means to access the Services — access is permitted only by human users acting through the interfaces we provide.
- Circumvent credit limits, resell or share paid access, or otherwise abuse the billing system.
- Hold more than one personal account, or more than one account per company domain — see Section 4.
- Transfer, sell, or share access to your account with anyone else.
- Run more than one active detection session, or have more than one Wardento bot in a call, at the same time on a single account.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services, including the bot pool other users rely on.
- Use the Services to build a competing product.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section — see Termination below.
8. Detection results are probabilistic, not certifications
Wardento's detection scores (for example, a “deepfake likely” flag) are automatically generated probabilistic signals, produced with help from our detection vendor (see Section 11), not a certified or guaranteed determination that a participant is or isn't real. Detection can produce false positives and false negatives, and accuracy varies with call quality, network conditions, and the underlying detection technology.
Don't treat a Wardento result as the sole basis for an employment, legal, security, or other high-stakes decision. Use it as one input alongside your own judgment and other verification steps.
9. Your content and our license to it
“Your content” means the call audio/video clips, detection results, and other data generated through your use of the Services. You retain your rights in your content. You grant Wardento a limited license to process, store, and transmit it (including to our detection vendor, see Section 11) solely to provide, maintain, and improve the Services, and as described in our Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for having the rights necessary to submit your content to the Services, including the consents described in Section 5.
10. Our intellectual property
The Services — including the Wardento name and logo, the web app, the Meet add-on, and our bot and detection infrastructure — are owned by Wardento and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.
11. Third-party services
The Services rely on third-party providers, including Hive for deepfake detection, Paddle as our reseller and merchant of record for payments, Google for sign-in, and cloud infrastructure providers for hosting and storage — see our Privacy Policy for the full list and what each receives. We're not responsible for the availability or performance of these third-party services.
12. Termination
You can stop using the Services and cancel your subscription at any time from the web app's Settings page; email us to delete your account entirely. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms, including the Acceptable use or consent obligations above, or if required by law.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Your intellectual property, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, Indemnification, and Governing law — continue to apply after your account is closed.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that detection results will be accurate — see Section 8.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wardento won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Services. Wardento's total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Wardento harmless from any claim, loss, or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms — including, specifically, a claim arising from a failure to obtain consent as described in Section 5.
16. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. There's no right or authority for any dispute to be brought as a class, consolidated, or representative action.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do, and for material changes we'll give you notice (for example, by email or in-app) before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Miscellaneous
- Severability — if any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
- Assignment — you may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- No waiver — our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Entire agreement — these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Wardento regarding the Services.
